Paragraph: Your Country

Everyone belongs to a country. I also have my own. The name of my country is Bangladesh. It is a South Asian country. Its official name is the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Its total area is 1,47,570 sqkm. In area, it is the 92nd largest country in the world. Bangladesh is a densely populated country. Its population is about 16 crores. In population, it is the 8th largest populous country. Before 1971, Bangladesh was ruled by the Pakistani rulers. The country became independent through a nine month bloody struggle. More than 3 million people sacrificed their lives to get freedom. Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. The doel is the national bird and water lily is the national flower of country. Jackfruit is our national fruit and hilsha is our national fish. Bangladesh is a country of sublime natural beauty. The green fields around the country soothe our minds. Bangladesh is a riverine country. The country has a network of many rivers. The Padma, the Meghna, the Jamuna, the Brahmaputra, the Karnafuli are the main rivers of Bangladesh. Most of the people live in villages. They are mainly farmers. They grow various types of crops like rice, jute, sugarcane, potato, wheat, oil seed etc. The city people are engaged in different profession. By profession, they are doctor, businessman, teacher, engineer, pilot, banker, researcher etc. The cash crop of our country is jute, tea, cotton etc. Bangladesh also earns a lot of money by exporting ready-made garments (RMG). The people of our country are of different religions and casts. Most of them are Muslims. But we live here peacefully. Though the people are not well off, they are very friendly and hospitable. There are many tourist spots in our country. They are the Cox’s Bazar, Kuakata, Rangamati, Patenga Sea Beach, Nilgiri in Bandarban etc. People from and abroad visit the places. We have rich cultural and traditional heritage. We also have some national days like the Independence Day, the Victory Day, Shaheed Day, National Mourning Day etc. We also enjoy many types of festivals. Bangladesh is my motherland. I feel proud to be a citizen of this country. 

প্রত্যেকেই একটি দেশের অন্তর্ভুক্ত। আমার নিজেরও আছে। আমার দেশের নাম বাংলাদেশ। এটি দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার একটি দেশ। এর অফিসিয়াল নামটি পিপলস রিপাবলিক অব বাংলাদেশ এটির মোট আয়তন ১,৪৭,৫৭০ বর্গকিলোমিটার। ক্ষেত্রের দিক থেকে এটি বিশ্বের ৯২ তম বৃহত্তম দেশ। বাংলাদেশ একটি ঘনবসতিপূর্ণ দেশ। এর জনসংখ্যা প্রায় ১৬ কোটি। জনসংখ্যার তুলনায় এটি ৮ম বৃহত্তম জনবহুল দেশ। একাত্তরের আগে পাকিস্তানী শাসকরা বাংলাদেশ শাসন করতেন। নয় মাসের রক্তক্ষয়ী লড়াইয়ের মধ্য দিয়ে দেশটি স্বাধীন হয়েছিল। স্বাধীনতা পাওয়ার জন্য ৩ মিলিয়নেরও বেশি মানুষ তাদের জীবন উৎসর্গ করেছে। ঢাকা বাংলাদেশের রাজধানী। এ দেশে দোয়েল জাতীয় পাখি এবং শাপলা হল জাতীয় ফুল। কাঁঠাল আমাদের জাতীয় ফল এবং ইলিশ আমাদের জাতীয় মাছ। বাংলাদেশ হৈ চৈ প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যের দেশ। সারা দেশের সবুজ মাঠ আমাদের মনকে প্রশান্ত করে। বাংলাদেশ নদীমাতৃক দেশ। দেশে অনেক নদী রয়েছে। পদ্মা, মেঘনা, যমুনা, ব্রহ্মপুত্র, কর্ণফুলি বাংলাদেশের প্রধান নদী। বেশিরভাগ মানুষ গ্রামে বাস করেন। তারা মূলত কৃষক। এরা বিভিন্ন ধরণের ফসল যেমন ধান, পাট, আখ, আলু, গম, তেল বীজ ইত্যাদি জন্মায়। নগরবাসীরা বিভিন্ন পেশায় নিয়োজিত। পেশায় তারা হলেন চিকিৎসক, ব্যবসায়ী, শিক্ষক, প্রকৌশলী, পাইলট, ব্যাংকার, গবেষক ইত্যাদি। আমাদের দেশের অর্থকরী শস্য হলো পাট, চা, তুলা ইত্যাদি। বাংলাদেশ তৈরি পোশাক রফতানি করেও প্রচুর অর্থ উপার্জন করে। আমাদের দেশের মানুষ বিভিন্ন ধর্ম এবং বর্ণের লোক। তাদের বেশিরভাগই মুসলমান। তবে আমরা এখানে শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে বাস করি। লোকেরা স্বচ্ছল না হলেও তারা অত্যন্ত বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ ও অতিথিপরায়ণ। আমাদের দেশে অনেকগুলি পর্যটন স্পট রয়েছে। এগুলি হল কক্সবাজার, কুয়াকাটা, রাঙামাটি, পতেঙ্গা সমুদ্র সৈকত, বান্দরবানের নীলগিরি ইত্যাদি। আমাদের রয়েছে সম্মৃদ্ধ সাংস্কৃতিক ও ঐতিহ্যবাহী হেরিটেজ। আমাদের কিছু জাতীয় দিবস যেমন স্বাধীনতা দিবস, বিজয় দিবস, শহীদ দিবস, জাতীয় শোক দিবস ইত্যাদিও রয়েছে। আমরা বিভিন্ন ধরণের উত্সব উপভোগ করি। বাংলাদেশ আমার মাতৃভূমি। আমি এ দেশের নাগরিক হতে পেরে গর্ববোধ করি।

My country-Bangladesh

The name of our country is the People's Republic of Bangladesh. It is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Our country was a part of Pakistan before 1971. Then we freed our country and achieved victory after nine month's liberation war. 3 million people sacrificed their lives in the liberation war in 1971. Our independence day is 26th March and Victory day is 16th December. The national language of our country is Bangla. It is also a matter of great pride for us that we are the only nation who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their mother tongue in 21st February of 1952. In order to show respect to them, UNESCO has declared 21st February as International Mother Language Day. The name of the capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. It is the busiest and populated city of our country. The total population is 16 crore. The total area of our country is 1, 47,570 square km. Our country is a river-oriented country. The main rivers of our country are Padma, Jamuna, Meghna. But due to pollution and river pollution, all of these rivers have shrunk. People of all religion live peacefully in this country but most of them are Muslim. The famous places for tourist's visit to our country are Sundarban, Cox'sBazar, St Martin, Kuakata. Sundarban is the largest Mangrove forest in the world. Cox's Bazar has the longest sea beach. The main occasion that people celebrate is Eid Ul Fitr, Eid Ul Adha, Pahela Baishakh, etc. Bangladesh is a developing country. The economics of this country is mainly based on agriculture. The main crops that this country produce are rice, jute, tea, fruit, etc. The country also earns a large amount of foreign remittance by exporting RMG (Ready Made Garments) and Manpower.  The main food that the inhabitant of this country eat is rice and fish. Hilsha is the national fish and Doyel is the national bird of our country. The national beast of the country is the Royal Bengal Tiger. The national bird of our country is Doyel and national flower is Shapla. Hadudu is the national game of our country but Cricket is the most popular game. People of this country know how to live happily and peacefully within poverty and natural hazards.
