The accident which is generally taken place on street is called a street accident. It is occurred by buses, trucks, rickshaws or any other vehicles. It is a regular phenomenon (we¯§qKi `„k¨ ev e¯‘) in the highways and cities of our country. It is increasing day by day. Every year thousands of people die due to street accident. Most of the accidents are taken place in urban areas. There are many causes of street accidents. The reckless driving of the drivers is the main cause of it. Besides, long time driving at a stretch, bad conditions of the streets, unskilled drivers are also responsible for causing street accident. Similarly, most of the drivers and passers-by are unwilling to obey the rules of traffic. The passers-by do not use footpath, over bridge, underground path at the time of moving on the streets. As a result, we find the news of street accident in the newspaper and on the television. It really makes us shocked. Last week I faced such a type of pathetic accident. It happened in front of our school road. When I was standing at the school gate and waiting for a bus, I saw a little boy who was trying to cross the busy road. When he was in the middle of the road, in the mean time a bus was coming from opposite direction. Before reaching the opposite side of the road, the bus ran over the body of the boy and at once he was seriously injured. He was soon taken to the hospital but the doctor declared his death. It really made me more sad and I can’t forget it easily. However, street accident is one the common problems for most of the countries. So this problem should be solved by taking some drastic (K‡Vvi) steps. Traffic rules should be imposed strictly. Passers-by and drivers should be made aware. Radio and television can play a vital role in this regard.

As a result we find the news of street accident in newspapers and on televisions. Last month I witnessed a pathetic and tragic road accident. It took place in front of our school. After school I was waiting at the school gate for a bus. When I was standing there, I saw a ten year boy who was trying to cross the busy road. When the boy was at middle of the road, he saw a truck approaching towards him speedily.
