The dog is a well-known animal. It is a four-footed animal. It is a faithful friend of man. People love it for its service. It has two eyes, two ears, a flat nose and a pointed face.  It has a short tail. Its body covered with short thick hair. Its legs are thin. They help it run very fast.

Dogs are of many kinds. There are bull dogs, grey hounds, lap dogs etc. They are of different in colour. Some are black, some are white and some are of mixed colours. The dog of one country differs from another country.

The dog is fond of flesh. It is a flesh eater. It has sharp teeth. It can tear meat with its sharp teeth. A pet dog also eats different things. It lives on bread, rice, fish and milk too.

The dogs serve us in many ways. It is the most useful domestic animal. Dogs are very faithful to its master. In some cases, dogs sometimes sacrifice their lives to save the masters. A pet dog guards the house and keeps its master safe from the thieves. A pet barks at the unknown. Nowadays the policemen use dogs in tracing out thieves and criminals.

A mad dog is very dangerous. If it bites a person, he is affected with a serious disease. So we should stay far from a mad dog.

The dog is a faithful pet animal. It is a very useful domestic animal. So we should love dog. We should also be kind to it.
