The Victory Day

A victory day is a red letter day in the history of every nation. a victory day is a day for a country when it becomes victorious from the ruling country. The victory day of Bangladesh is the 16th December. On this day our country achieved victory from the ruling country Pakistan. After a nine-month struggle against Pakistani army, our heroic freedom fighters defeated them. The people of all walks of life joined the war.  Every year we observe the day with due solemnity. We remember the sacrifice of the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for independent Bangladesh. We pay homage to their departed soul. The day begins with gunshot. The whole country wears a festive look. The Prime Minister, the president and the chiefs of other organizations put flower wreaths at the national Memorial. People also offer floral wreaths at the monument. To observe the day, the govt. arranges different types of programs and activities across the country. the national Museum and other National organizations remain open for public to visit. TV channels shows documentaries on the occasion of the victory day. Newspapers also bring out supplements for celebrating the day. Meetings, seminars, symposiums, and discussions are held on this day by different govt. and non-govt. organizations. This day is a day of great joy, hope, and inspiration. This victory symbolizes a victory against injustice, tyranny, and falsehood. This day will remain ever fresh and evergreen in the heart of each and every Bangladeshi.
