My Favourite Book

My Favourite Book Different people have different choice. Some like story books, other like the detective moues and the other like science fiction but I have different mind. I do not have any other favourite book of those. I like the “Holy Quran” the most. It is a heavenly book.     It is in Arabic language.  The Holy Quran is my favourite book because I get satisfaction after reciting it. Every morning I love to recite the Holy Quran. I recite it with its “Urdu” translation. There is a lot of information in it. Every Muslim has a firm belief in it. It tells us about this life and the life hereafter.  The Holy Quran is a complete code of life. One can find a solution to every problem. It not only deals with the worldly affairs but also with affairs of the world hereafter. It gives us a complete guidance. There are clear injunctions about our life in the Holy Quran. Every aspect of our life has been discussed in detail in it. That is why all the Muslims cannot go agai...

Story on The King and the Astrologer

The King and the Astrologer Once there was a king. He was fond of (প্রিয়/পছন্দ/আগ্রহ) knowing his future from the astrologers (জ্যোতিষি). Very often (প্রায়ই), he called in the astrologer to his palace (রাজ প্রসাদ) and had known from them what was in store for his luck. Once a good astrologer was going to Benaras (বেনারস-একটি জায়গার নাম). The king called for him to his palace to know about his future. The astrologer told the king something unpleasant (অসন্তোষ/অপ্রীতিকর) about his life.    At this, the king became angry and instantly (তাৎক্ষনিক) condemned (কন্ডেস্ড= নিন্দা করা) him to death. The king said, "Man like you should not live to spoil (নষ্ট করা) the peace of the world." However, the astrologer was about to be taken to the place of execution (মৃত্যুদণ্ড). At that time, a thought (চিন্তা/ভাবনা) crossed through king's mind, "How long would you live?" asked the king. The astrologer readily hit upon a plan to escape (মুক্তি) death. With his ready wit (বুদ্ধ...

Who will bell the cat

Who will bell the cat There was an old house in a village. A number of Mice lived in the house. They were doing a lot of mischief there. The master of the house was very annoyed and made a plan. He brought a cat. As a result, the mice could not come out of their holes. One day all the mice sat together in order to find a way out. Different mice gave different suggestions. At last a young mouse wanted to present a proposal. All the mice asked him to make his proposal. Then the young mouse said, “If we tie a bell around the cat’s neck we’ll be in a position to understand when the cat is coming. Before its coming, we’ll be able to hide. All the mice praised the proposal except the old one. He stood up and said, “the proposal is quite good, but who’ll bell the cat?” Hearing this, all the mice began to look at one another and felt disappointed. Finding no solution, the mice eventually migrated to another place. অনুবাদ : এক গ্রামে একটা পুরনো বাড়ি ছিল। বাড়িতে বেশ কিছু ইঁদুর বাস করত। স...
