In the letter, you wanted to know about the recent fair that was held in my village. Now I am giving you a brief description of it. The fair was held on the bank of a canal. It lasted for a week. There were almost one hundred stalls in the fair. The circus party, magic show and puppet show were the main attractions of the fair. I with some of my friends visited the fair and enjoyed it very much. Toys, dolls balloons and various kinds of sweetmeats are sold there.   Write a letter to your friend / Foreign friend describing your country. Uttara, Dhaka 21.08.2020 My dear Sam, It is very nice of you that you sent me a letter to know about my country. I am giving you a short description about my country. The name of my country is Bangladesh. It is small but independent. It became independent in 1971. 16 December is our Victory Day. Its area is 148,460 skm. It has a large population. People of different religions and tribes live here peacefully. Dhaka is the Capital city of our country. It has many big rivers. Cox’s Bazar is the largest sea beach in the world. Our land is very fertile. The farmers grow a lot of crops here. We also grow many fruits. Jackfruit is our national fruit. Water lily is our national flower. Our mother language is Bangla. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the father of our nation. He was murdered along with his family on 15 August 1975. Mujib Borsho

  Mujib Borsho  100 Birth Year Celebration “Mujib Borsho” of Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheik Mujibur Rahman to be celebrated with due respect from March 17, 2020, to March 26, 2021, through yearlong various programmes nationally & globally. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born at Tungipara in Gopalganj on March 17, 1920. He spearheaded the Bengalis’ liberation struggle and Bangladesh emerged as an independent country from Pakistan on the world map in 1971. Promoting the role of Bangabandhu at the grassroots level in Bangladesh’s independence struggle, the return anniversary of Bangabandhu, the founding anniversary of the Awami League, National Mourning Day and Jail Killing Day will be celebrated every year as well.  There are also plans to produce short films and documentaries to celebrate the birth anniversary and Mujib anniversary. THE WOLF AND THE LAMB

  THE WOLF AND THE LAMB A hungry wolf was once drinking water at a stream. He caught sight of a lamb drinking water far down. He wanted to eat it up. He ran up to it and said very angrily, “Why are you making the water muddy? Don’t you see that I am drinking it?” The poor little lamb began to tremble and said, “Please, sir, the water is flowing from you to me. So I am not at all making it dirty for you.” “But why did you call me names last year?” thundered the wolf. “You are mistaken, sir,” replied the lamb. “I was not even born last year.” “Then it must have been your elder brother. And you must now suffer for his fully.” So saying he jumped upon the unfortunate lamb and tore it into pieces.   Moral: Any excuse is good enough for an evildoer. Or, A stray Lamb stood drinking early one morning on the bank of a woodland stream. That very same morning a hungry Wolf came by farther up the stream, hunting for something to eat.
